With, clean lines, low booths, and an open, airy feel, AB Lounge is a sleek addition to a street largely covered in neighborhood bars. Located downstairs from the Lebanese restaurant Al Bustan, the chic space caters to thirtysomethings looking for a quiet place to sip a glass of wine or two on a weeknight. The cocktail menu is smattered with ingredients like elderflower and rose essence (worry not, beer is also available), and all drinks are a relative bargain during their Tuesday through Saturday happy hour, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Appetizers such as stuffed grape leaves and phyllo rolls are offered in the lounge (you’ll have to go upstairs for the full menu). The lounge can also be rented out as an expansive private party space, welcoming both DJs and, in a nod to its Middle Eastern connections, belly dancers.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
