Nestled on a quiet street between a 99-cent store and a Laundromat in South Williamsburg, this hookah lounge can’t help but announce its presence. Sounds of Reggaeton and hip-hop and a neon blue glow greet you at the velvet rope. Smokers head straight to one of five tables where you can indulge in a selection of weekly rotated tobacco flavors. Everyone else heads to the standing-room-only bar, which features an enormous gold-plated jaguar statue and a good supply of folks in their Sunday best drinking affordable cocktails in plastic cups. When things really get going -- like on Mega 97.9 Fridays and nights with $100 bottle specials -- the second floor, usually used for private parties and VIP, opens to fit a dozen or so people more comfortably.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
