If you haven’t been to the Amsterdam Ale House, chances are you’ve been somewhere exactly like it: The place is usually crowded with a scruffy collegiate clientele and a smattering of older sports fans whose eyes are glued to one of the many televisions. They’ve got Hefeweiss and Delerium and stouts from across Europe and some seasonal options. The scene is usually mellow during the day and on quieter weekday nights, but crowd-phobics should avoid this spot during big sporting events and when there’s something going on at the nearby Beacon Theater.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
