Striving to be a true all-purpose Murray Hill nightspot, this three-level space balances sports-watching with an upscale grill and private party space. On the ground floor, a cloth-napkin restaurant with a full bar and waitstaff serves an exotic menu—like the Arctica pizza with poached pear, onion, hazelnuts, and Gorgonzola and fresh mozzarella cheese—that goes beyond the standard beer-battered grill fare. In the upstairs bar, a postgrad crowd takes in open-mike nights, local D.J. sets, Guitar Hero fests, and food/drink deals based around big games, which flicker on flat-screens running the entire length of the wall. There’s a front patio and quiet back deck, and in the basement, a billiards room and private party space called Ice Bar operates like a black box where TVs are hidden away in every dark corner.
Best of New York: Nightlife
Where to dance with no curfew, ride bikes in the dark, sample a dozen rare mescals, and master the art of Skee-Ball.
