This congenial bar-lounge doesn’t overexert itself, relying on a solid beer list and a five-hour happy hour to hook its share of the thirsty East Village throng. Most patrons gather along the sizeable L-shaped bar in front, but there’s more than enough seating room on the plush black sofa and the bar stools pulled up to a narrow side wall counter. Votive candles sparkle throughout, adding a much-needed softness to an atmosphere otherwise dominated by a groovy red disco ceiling. The back area is a rotating showcase of local art, like the huge mixed-media creations recently crowding the pool table. The beer list is locally minded: Kelso, Brooklyn Lager and Captain Lawrence are on tap.
