When you walk into the lounge of Jeffrey Chodorow’s new venture, you may think you’ve entered into the future as seen by the eighties (it was, after all, designed by Syd Mead of Blade Runner fame). Don’t let it deter you from picking up a glass and letting a machine pour your wineóremember, this is the future. The EnoMatic (a fancy name for wine dispenser) that is embedded within the red wall is a Spanish-wine geek’s fantasy. From rare Txacolis to chocolaty Mencias, it will dispense whatever your heart desires (as long as it desires Spanish or Basque wine) to the level of your choosing: a taste, a half-glass, or a full glass. Bites like earthy, creamy mushroom croquettes and the expensive-but-worth-it Jamon Iberico mean that a quick, post-work drink can turn into a late-night wine fest. And if wine isn’t your tipple of choice, go for a botanical-laced gin and tonic like the rosemary-chile paired with No. 209 Gin and an artisanal tonic water of your choosing.Live Jazz
Every Wednesday from 7 to 10 p.m. hear live jazz with trumpeter Mike Cottone.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
