New York's latest poolside rooftop bar, Trump Soho's Bar
d'Eau, is located on the hotel's seventh-floor spa
deck. T 6,000-square-foot pool area is the first New York nightlife
foray of South Beach team KNR, who also opened the hotel's restaurant Quattro Gastronomia Italiana, and features your standard sybaritic amenities: cascading waterfall, private cabanas, bocce court. Following
the established pool-bar model, the spot will be open to all hotel
guests during the day, while the clubby evening scene is restricted to
an exclusive list of "invited guests" only (though presumably not so
exclusive as the list at the imminently privatizing
Le Bain). The specialty cocktails ($15-$22) range from a lychee martini to a margarita spiked with hot peppers. If
you decide to eat, the kitchen has a small-plates menu of sliders, truffle-butter popcorn, lobster salad, and coconut panna cotta. Just be sure to wait a half-hour before jumping into the
pool.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
