Known For

The lowdown

Kenta Goto made his name at Pegu Club, but here he’s broken out on his own and manages to offer New York one of the city’s best cocktail bars. House drinks include the sakura martini, an “umami” Bloody Mary with miso and shiitake, and an “improved” shochu cocktail served in a wooden box. Drinks are the thing here, but Goto’s take on Japanese comfort food is not to be missed, especially chicken wings (some of the city’s best) slathered in spicy miso sauce, delicate slices of chilled octopus, and a selection of various okonomiyaki.

What you need to know
