Bar on Fifth is the quintessential hotel bar. Located behind a glass wall on the first floor of The Setai Fifth Avenue, the atmosphere is laid back yet sophisticated, catering mostly to the after-work and tourist crowds. The lounge area is decorated with stacks of coffee table books, built-in cabinetry, occasional artwork, and a fireplace, rendering the space quaint, and intimate enough to carry on a conversation. The cocktail menu features a few classics plus more inventive drinks like their take on the Moscow Mule, which includes fresh muddled ginger. Starting at $14 per drink, the cocktails are pricey but delicious. The relaxed vibe, ample space, and friendly staff make it ideal for catching up with old friends or taking a mid-day shopping break, tourist or not. — Emily Watkins
