Beauty Bar’s newest outpost may have decamped Bushwick for Park Slope, but moving into swankier digs didn’t mean losing its low-cost lacquer. Bottled beers will run you a mere $4-$6, and $6-$7 on tap, with wine on tap at $8. El Diablo Bonito muddles ginger and cucumber with grapefruit and tequila. Mirrors, chrome and custom glittery chevron stripes accent the walls, plus floral couches with your grandma’s plastic covers sit opposite the vintage hair dryers. There’s no backroom dance floor like at the Manhattan version of the franchise – Brooklyn’s is a neighborhood spot orchestrated around the huge bar. By the end of the night (and a few rounds of those cheap drinks), those hair dryer chairs are for make-out duos. This is a theme bar, Brooklyn-style. Walk-ins welcome.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
