The lowdown
When theme-bar diva Deb Parker bought this old-time beauty parlor, she kept many of its original furnishings, including Liberace-esque chandeliers and bulbous hair dryers. Everything’s done with a curatorial eye for detail, which, appropriately, gives everyone that post-facial glow. “Everyone” in this case, is a laid-back bunch of hipster guys with The Haircut, hipster girls with The Boots, and a good portion of both with The Glasses. And the bar ups its place-to-be ante with a $10 manicure-and-drink deal! Throw in cute bartenders and strong, cheap drinks, and you’ll want to frequent the place — or one of its other six locations, including one in Brooklyn — as often as the little ol’ ladies who once came in for their weekly blue rinse.
