Bijoux is another splashdown in a series of “secret” Meatpacking District basement lounges. Once ushered inside through the de rigeur unmarked entrance (it helps if you know Dimitri), you’ll find yourself square in the midst of a high school reunion party for Vogue cover models and would-be Bond girls. The space is chopped up into a black-lacquered labyrinth of tiny rooms, with thumping beats, banquettes built for making out, and black-and-gold chrome paintings of topless women setting the vaguely illicit tone. (Crucial note: One of the rooms boasts a lowered chandelier gazing at its reflection in a glassed-over well. That’s right, a well.)
