A classic, dimly-lit cocktail bar, Blueprint stands out against the well-established pint-and-shot scene that runs up and down Fifth Avenue. This Park Slope bar is a bit more grown up—dare we say mature?—than its neighbors, and caters to seasoned drinkers who'd rather sip than chug. The menu of 'slow drink' options features classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned, Sazerac, and Negroni. Naturally, there are some more modern tipples that all deserve a try as well—the Kentucky Waltz mixes Bourbon, maple syrup, mint, and ceylon tea, and there's some Mezcal-based drinks on the menu for cocktail-snobs to argue about. There's also food to keep you from careening too quickly into drunkenness: the menu emphasizes small plates of meats and cheeses, but more substantial fare such as pork butt and the rabbit pot pie are available. The bar is charming and quiet, all candlelight and tarnished mirrors, and outside there's an intimate little patio.
