The Brazen Head scarcely needs a listing here: Anyone who would want to drink here already does. Although immensely popular with a neighborhood crowd of over-thirties (some way over 30)—many of whom look like it wouldn’t occur to them to check out the scene on Smith Street: The nightlife-seeking visitor to this stretch of Atlantic Avenue between Cobble Hill and Boerum Hill wouldn’t find the hip hood around the corner much of a draw. The regulars who crowd the long bar that diagonally bisects the room come for pint night on Tuesdays; single malt Fridays; Sunday’s “Bloodies and Bagels”; and ladies night, on Wednesdays, when wine and cheese is spotlighted for the delicate, sensitive dears. The Brazen Head is a step up from a dive, and there are a few nooks near the windows up front that could be considered cozy for a tête-à-tête or small group, but otherwise, there’s little reason to venture here if you don’t already do so with regularity. And we’re sure the existing clientele would thank us for saying so.
