If you really concentrate, the downstairs space at Danny Meyer's Tabla can feel like what it essentially is—a lobby with a fancy restaurant overhead. But it's best to ignore that notion and set to work kicking back any number of the wines served in stemless glasses, boutique beers on draft or signature cocktails. The trademark Tablatini is made with citron vodka, fresh pineapple juice and lemongrass. Have one with a sampling of what may be the best bar food in the city—just try the tandoori hanger steak.
ExtraMeyer is responsible for the revitalization of Madison Square Park (across the street from Tabla) and helped plan the sculpture garden for the park's north end.
