Profile

Partners Greg Sandor and Paul Wegimont named their Cutchogue winery Bridge Vineyards, and that name has become particularly apt. “We want to bridge the distance between city and winery,” says Sandor, who collaborates with Long Island legend Eric Fry on Bridge’s estate-grown Merlot, Chardonnay, and Riesling. Those varietals, along with a line of table wines are available to taste and to purchase at a satellite tasting room in the Brooklyn shadow of the Williamsburg Bridge. Their farm-winery license allows them to sell and pour only New York State wines, including, besides their own, selections like a Hudson Valley Pinot Noir and a Finger Lakes Riesling. The partners pair finger foods like stromboli and panini with $6 tastes of wine, and selling locally produced groceries like Long Island goat cheese and Sang Lee Farms salads. The space also functions as a bona fide “urban winery,” with clients doing their own barrel sampling and small-batch blending.

This place was perfect before the new renovations. The menu and daily specials were all delicious (especially there sliders). Now they have cut the menu down, but it is still good. The chefs that work there are quite possibly the most creative and talented chefs of all the restaurants I've been to. The service is great, people are really nice and open to any questions about the wine or food. The decor after the renovation is lacking. The pictures on this site (at the time of this posting) are deceiving because they detail how it use to look. If it is your first time going I definitely recommend it and think you'll love it. However, if you've been there before you'll notice that the charm they use to have is gone.
