Walk into this Astor Place Irish pub, and the first thing you think is “clean.” From the spotless brown leather booths to the Pine Sol–scented bar and gleaming raised tables, it’s all sports bar minus the grime. An uninspired but inexpensive beer list is more than enough for the MLB and Premier League fans who show up at game time, while the bustling after-work crowd is all oxfords and sundresses. An upstairs lounge boasts wannabe-chic votive candles, textured pillows, and a backlit bar, while Thursday through Saturday nights a D.J. spins a standard crowd-pleasing array of Top 40. The menu is surprisingly good—try the quesadillas—and a decent Irish brunch (though who really wants to have brunch in a bar?) makes it a good stop the next morning.
