After opening in June 2006, this Irish-expat’s pub on a formerly desolate stretch of Fourth Avenue quickly became the local destination for World Cup fanatics. Today, the large unpretentious bar attracts young, bright-eyed liberal arts grads (plus a few hardcore Brooklynites) even on nights when the three flat screen monitors switch from sporting events to bartender-curated music-videos. Yet whatever the televised visuals, the enormous picture window at back still provides the most enticing view: a leafy, sunny backyard with a raised patio and an outdoor brick oven meant for pizza and brunch.
