Sure, you could get comfy with a ten-ounce martini at a sidewalk seat, but those who venture deeper into this multi-function venue will find—between the front café and a rear dining room—a blond-wood bar that curves in and out to create inviting nooks. Elsewhere packs of girlfriends chat over tame music while 30-and-up office cliques use the bright lighting to wade through a list of 30 wines by the glass and quirky cocktails (some named for regulars at Choice's sister establishment the Uptown Lounge). Although red fabric lamps and mosaic detailing might outclass the neighborhood, Choice keeps prices humble for pints of Guinness and traditional finger foods like quesadillas and fried calamari. The four rotating flat-screens in the main bar area are superfluous; on game nights, sports fans congregate in a sequestered drinking nook tucked behind the dining room and with its own television and hologram-lit fireplace. — Julia Langbein
