Pan-Indian eatery Copper Chimney does its best to turn Curry Hill into a drinking destination with its chic, diminutive second-floor lounge—a narrow sliver bookended on one end by a snug dining room where tables tucked into suede banquettes are appointed with roses and, on the other end, by pillow-strewn nooks perfect for sitting cross-legged while popping tasty appetizers and entrées from downstairs. In between, the petite bar itself serves up cocktails such as a signature Collins incorporating house-infused ginger vodka; and the Celadun Fantasy mixing rum, pinapple juice, and sour mix. The mostly California wines aren’t nearly as exotic, but beer drinkers will find Indian brews like Kingfisher and Taj Mahal.

Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
