This venue is closed.
Sure, it has the polished skin of a swank restaurant (chocolate-leather armchairs tucked under dark pine tables; gleaming silverware tucked into cloth napkins) but this low-ceilinged space is, in fact, a lounge. There are eight taps at the modest front bar and a D.J. spinning classic rock on the weekends. That said, tipplers should leave their dance shoes at home and bring their appetites instead for a menu of seasonal small plates. If the weather permits, bypass the dining room and the small glass-covered heated patio for the large brick-backed garden where birch trees, ivy, and ferns glow under subway-style globe lamps. The wicker chairs and umbrella tables are easy to reserve.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
