Cornerstone is a standard sports bar and restaurant in every functional way, but it boasts none of the well-worn vets, homey poolrooms, or stale, smoke-starved air that hangs around so many of the city’s innumerable McPubs. This handsome tap house makes the most of its generous two-story space with two full bars, dual upstairs dinner nooks, and a windowed door on the north wall that open to the street on temperate evenings. It still hosts the same deep-fried menu and flat-screen sports lineup as any other bar, but each of its individual elements, from its full restaurant to its craft-brewed tap selection, manages to be just a little nicer than those of its competitors without looking too obviously affected; an admirable feat, that.
