On warm evenings, the bartender at this easy-going lounge flings back the bifold doors and drags a few tables and chairs out to the sidewalk. Out there, with a well-mixed martini at your elbow and the sounds from the bar's stereo floating by, it's hard to imagine a better way to while away the night in Queens. Inside, the lounge is just as charming: The three Astoria locals who own the bar have dressed it up with velvet armchairs, comfy couches and gilded mirrors. The daily happy hour attracts neighborhood denizens returning from work.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
