Amid the backdrop of a robust Greek neighborhood, Cronin and Phelan’s serves a full Irish breakfast; other Emerald Isle entrées round out an otherwise conventional menu. An ample dining area with a row of tall booths crowds the bar, but once the kitchen closes (10pm Sunday to Wednesday, 11pm Thursday to Saturday), drinking takes center stage. The comfy backyard beckons those who are craving an escape from the sixteen TV screens broadcasting every imaginable tourney (or are looking to avoid errant darts thrown by the members of the Queens Dart League). An old phone booth and old holiday cards pinned to the wall provide homey touches, and late-nighters tuck into black-and-white pudding or a slice of strawberry-rhubarb pie with their Guinness.
