Profile
The owners of Croxley Ales want it both ways: A sports-driven beer bar that East Village hipsters won't disdain. Their menu even posts the following disclaimer: "Brands we do not carry: Bud, Miller & Coors." True enough, most of the domestics you'll find on their extensive beer list (31 tap; 75-plus bottles) are micros like Anchor and Brooklyn. But hop-and-barley pretensions aside, Croxley smacks of suburbanism: The cookie-cutter pub even has two Long Island branches (not to mention 13 TVs with surround sound). Yet given the neighborhood's frat-boy influx, it might not be a losing proposition. After all, even hipsters can't deny the allure of 10-cent chicken wings (Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.).
