Dark wood, mustard-colored walls, and just enough light to keep an eye on your draft are the primary design elements at this unpretentious Irish drinking hole for East Village 20- and 30-somethings. This is not a destination for Gaelic purists: Chances are you won't hear a brogue among the bartenders (most are Yanks), and the seven plasma TVs overhead are usually tuned to American sports. Still there are nods to the Emerald Isle: The bar is stocked with the requisite whiskeys; Guinness anchors a decent list of on-tap and bottled beers; and Tuesdays feature traditional Celtic music. Most of the clientele congregate in the front room, but you can also pass the time in the back, where regulars shoot pool and play darts.
