Laid-back but not dreary or rough enough to live up to the "dive" in its name, the small neighborhood hangout is usually packed with preppy Upper West Siders who appreciate the stiff drinks. Space is tight. Once the after-work throng arrives, good luck snagging a seat. If you do manage to grab one of the wooden tables in the adjoining area, board games—Battleship, Connect Four, Othello—are on hand. Some of the sets are missing pieces but, after a few beers, that doesn’t matter so much. For sports fans, there are TVs. For fish fans, an aquarium.
