Profile

This late-night lounge/kitchen adds color to a blank riverside block with a well-chosen cocktail lineup, a nice selection of small plates, and an airy space inspired by dreams of Central America. Donna is the latest brainchild of the ubiquitous design brothers Haslegrave (Elsa, Paulie Gee’s, Goat Town), who are known for their reclaimed aesthetic, and this under-the-bridge production follows their model while honoring owner Leif Huckman’s Honduran heritage. Decorative touches include reclaimed pine-wood floors, black steel chandeliers, and white vaulted ceilings that recall an early-twentieth-century Spanish mission. The venue’s high-design menu includes fancy but approachable cocktails heavy on island liquors, citrus juices, and exotic additions like chili-infused rum and celery bitters. Try the Bend 'N Snap, made with snap pea-infused Tequila Cabeza, Strega, velvet falernum, pineapple, and lime, or the Lions on the Beach, made with Bimini and Plymouth gins, Avua Amburana, pamplemousse, elderflower, coconut, and lemon.
