This tavern’s name may reference the postal code of owner Jason O’Brien’s native Dublin but generally speaking, Dublin 6 isn’t overly concerned with its pedigree. Shamrock dishes like bangers and mash and Guinness pie are outnumbered by Continental items like homemade chicken liver pate; Guinness, though on tap, is outshined by a rotating cast of drafts from America, France and Great Britain. During the week’s evening hours, post-work suits stop by the brightly lit, dark-red interior for a game of Jenga or Connect Four—conveniently left out on the bar. And if you’re wondering why the place plays down any Emerald Isle associations, take note of this bit of trivia: Co-owner Katie Connelly is from Scotland.
