Much like a good punchline, this East Village comedy club keeps it simple: The sizable space, with room for 140, boasts the requisite petite stage, high-back chairs, and diminutive cocktail tables. Elsewhere, a wraparound bar, backed by a robin’s-egg-blue wall, serves up drink minimums in the form of the regular fare (Corona, Guinness, Merlot, martinis); a small but proud food menu boasts everything from popcorn to shrimp Scampi. Stand-up stalwarts like Todd Barry and Judah Friedlander are in regular rotation, and Sarah Silverman, Louis C.K., and Dave Attell have all stopped by, but most nights are the domain of a slightly more anonymous crowd, many boasting a few Comedy Central or Sirius Radio credits to their names. Enter-at-your-own-risk open mikes take place every night at 6pm.
