At this party-down dance club, good old-fashioned fun is more important than what you're wearing or who's cutting science on the turntable. The crowd is truly mixed, ranging from embarrassing old-timers acting hip to youngsters who don't give a damn what hip is; be you straight, gay, bi or every which way and loose, you're welcome to boogie down in this freewheeling carnival. The ample dance floor is overlooked by a balcony, where you can sit it out and get a bird's-eye view of the action. For the last several years, the stage in back has hosted The Donkey Show, a must-see, participatory Off-Off-Broadway production that mates Shakespeare with '70s disco. —Peter Landau
