There's no shortage of reasons to sing your face off at this rock 'n' roll-themed bar-restaurant—from the petite, professional looking corner stage to the inspirational if corny portraits of Axl Rose and Jimi Hendrix to the neon signs spelling out revered anthems like Satisfaction and Paradise City. Even non-karaoke die-hards will have trouble resisting the lure of Encore's 10,000-song binders. In between numbers, aspiring David Lee Roths can lounge around the spacious bar or perch on a banquette made for birthday parties while noshing on frat-house cuisine: Eggos, turkey dumplings and pizza bagels, anyone? As to the cocktail list, that's meant to induce drunkenness, pronto, via eight types of boiler-maker-style bombs and three specialty shots. (The Birthday Sundae is made with Godiva Liqueur, vodka, and whipped cream.) With this much liquid courage going around, nobody will be surprised when the most shrinking of violets is leading a few hundred people in a sing-along of We Are the World at 4am.

The weekend parties are hosted by self-proclaimed "karaoke missionaries" Sid and Buddy, who have led sing-alongs everywhere from Galapagos to Cipriani.
