Plop in the middle of Greenwich Village beyond the velvet rope and the bouncer, Falucka (which rhymes fittingly with "hookah") is a sleek, petite lounge with a moody mosaic-and-candlelight interior. Affiliated with Le Souk, this mellower, cozier version of the East Village's Moroccan club flanks its narrow, amber-lit space with low banquettes and small tables scattered with rose petals; behind the curtain at back is a room with a little more privacy. In both spaces, patrons partake of apple-flavored hookahs and house cocktails. Weeknights are laid back, while weekends pack in a young, dressy jeans-clad crowd that dances hard to a DJ spinning international, hip hop, and Arabic tunes. Sunday at midnight brings what every Middle Eastern lounge needs…a gorgeous belly dancer.
