Profile

Named after the four contradictory faces of a clock tower in Cork, Ireland, this woody pub is an alternative to both the pretension and cheese that plagues many of the neighborhood’s watering holes. The small room is lined with booths and tables, but the square dimensions help the elbowroom. The crowd is generally young, thirsty, and somewhat plain-Jane by Manhattan standards. The only real chicanery going on is that the “pints” served are actually 20 oz, however it is doubtful that such a swindle will prompt any kind of public outcry. Four raised outdoor tables offers great views of the tourists/yuppie/tranny/thug parade of the West Village.
