With $7 glasses of wine and bottles that start at $23, Frizzante joins Frederick Douglass Boulevard as the latest date spot to pop up in Harlem. Or so it seems. The immense wine selection is underwhelming and the inexpensive dishes aren’t nearly as delicious as they look. What the Italian wine bar can rightfully boast is excellent service: You can find always find an attentive waiter in the warmly decorated dining area of mahogany tables, hanging lights, and exposed brick walls. The venue draws a mixed crowd, who come to listen to the softly playing jazz and swing music, and in the summer, the French doors spring open, offering fresh air and an ideal opportunity for people-watching.
