Washington Heights’ only cigar bar is one of the city’s few remaining smoker-friendly haunts. Within view of the George Washington Bridge, the compact, clubby space offers tweaks both modern (flat-screen HDTVs for Yankees fans) and traditional (a full-service barber, with hot towels and shoe shines). At back is a walk-in humidor with about 150 different boxes; upstairs is a members-only lounge with plump leather chairs and an oversize chess table, should you want to puff and play. You’ll have to forget about complementing your stogie with a single-malt scotch, since Fumée is all about tobacco, not booze. But amid photos of Che Guevara and JFK lighting up, at least you’re in good company.
MembershipAnnual dues are $995 and come with a bevy of discounts and invitations to VIP events.
