Like a Tokyo "love hotel," this lounge has swank pretensions but neither the cube seats and light boxes in foam-filled walls nor the needless velvet rope can save it from the seediness wafting in from the surrounding blocks. Colored lights cast a sickly glow on a crowd that ranges, depending on the promoter, from rugged hip-hoppers from the nearby housing projects to nouveau-riche Russians to local 9-to-5-ers dancing to cheesy late-90s house hits. The "G" stands for geisha, and indeed waitresses with kimonos and incongruous Eastern European accents assuage the cost of bottle service by performing backrubs in nooks that can be curtained off for whatever debauchery your party desires. Still further privacy can be found in the tiny basement rooms that contain nothing but large, fluffy beds and speakers with control volumes. You could fly to Tokyo with the money it costs to buy booze/time in one of these cells, but who needs the Far East when you’ve got Kanye West.
