Pull your cart up to this shopping mall of a gay lounge and start browsing. There's no sign hanging off the brick archway, just a simple "g" embossed on the bay-windowed entrance. The interior is sleek and pretty yet unpretentious--sort of like the patrons. The banquettes in the elevated, hardwood-paved sitting room aren't that comfy, but who cares? Stay focused on the gorgeous David Barton-cut men preening, posing and getting pissed on strong drinks. Straight girls: Feel free to look, 'cause it's on display for everyone's appreciation. DJs fill the room with a little something for everyone--don't be embarrassed to show your enthusiasm when you hear "Pump Up the Jam." — Heather Marie Graham

What happaned to g? Will someone please answer me?!?! Used to be one of my favorite spots, and now it is filled with thugs and seedy clientele. The kind of clientele that makes you check your wallet 100 times in an evening to make sure it hasnt been stolen. Talk about how the mightly have fallen!! Someone needs to do something to protect one of Chelsea's pillars! To the managers, you are letting a good thing slip through your fingers. I feel bad for the bartenders......must such to have a good gig go sour. Please....someone....SAVE G LOUNGE!!!!!!

Pretentious and boring

The other review is correct about the great martinis, but that's all this place has to offer. It's a haven for pretentious twinks and their companions. Just about everyone seems to be modeling waiting to be discovered by some producer. Music is OK but not spectacular.
