The owners of the popped-collar dance club Libation set their sights somewhere different with Williamsburg’s Good Co. The space is impressive: dark wooden benches, wind-worn pillars, and decorative barrels dot a scuffed concrete floor, while warm beige colors highlight a lofty set of bar-back shelves. It may lack the craft beers and ginger-and-bitters cocktails available elsewhere on the nearby Bedford strip, but its handlers satisfy other local clichés with cheap pilsner-and-liquor combos and vinyl-era rock mixes. Its menu runs on backwoods standards like homemade pork rinds, turkey meatloaf, and “Texas” chili. All these features pale, however, in the face of a massive outdoor patio. Cast-iron tables topped with umbrellas allow visitors to sip drinks and watch the propane grill in action from the comfort of the cool shade.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
