Profile

This venue is closed.

In a space that previously housed a Chinese barbershop (and before that, a massage parlor), Good World has become one of downtown's hottest drinking destinations. Thickets of rum-breathing bodies make passage from front to back almost impossible; instead of chopping your way through, it's better to be guided by one of two waitresses who unapologetically bash their way between. DJs provide the perfect beats for models, Euros, artists and local hip-hop heads on the weekends. The wood-and-wrought-iron appeal of the interior décor doesn't match the inviting back patio, where you can plop yourself down on a bench and smoke whatever you'd like. A menu of Swedish treats like gravlax and, yes, Swedish meatballs is available until midnight.

Terrible Place

I had been going here for years. The Owner (not Annika, but some very tall blond hulk who one of the waiters told us was the actual owner) is a terrible human being and seems to enjoy shoving his patrons to the ground. My friend had the unfortunate bad luck to run across him and thus got shoved to the ground and split his head open on a steel table base. The owner was too drunk to recognize what he had done and would not bother to apologize. GO AT YOUR OWN RISK. Aside from this, it used to be a cool place but the food is mediocre as it has always been and the crowd less interesting these days. Would rather hit other establishments.

Avoid at all costs

Overcharged my credit card by 2X. After leaving numerous messages, I finally got in touch with a manager named Anna. She apologized and promised me a credit on my card. Never followed through. Thou shall not steal from your customers.
