Attracting a few Hell’s Kitchen locals and some wayward tourists who have drifted over from the theaters, Gossip is a friendly, well-executed, dependably typical Irish pub. In most ways, the spot is exactly what you’d expect—there are several flat-screens that burn away on the walls, a menu with regular pub fare (burgers, French onion soup, and slightly more traditional offerings like shepherd’s pie), and buckets of domestic beer on the cheap. It’s a huge space: There’s a seated area in back (along with a classy fake fireplace) and another bar up top. Most of the interior is pretty charming, though—especially the stained-glass sunrise right at the front. There are a fair amount of brews on tap, and enough fruity takes on the mojito or martini to get the out-of-towners gushing. The kitchen is open late, too, so you can pad all that booze in a nice nest of nachos.
