This second-story hideaway is creatively partitioned into several different areas: Just off the entrance sits a row of nose-against-the-glass stools and a view of Greenwich Avenue; to the rear, there’s a dance-party-ready lounge area; and tucked away off the main space, you'll find a tiny, bookshelf-lined private chamber, where a handful of escapists at a time can gaze across backyards and bond by candlelight. The palatial ceilings and boisterous Wii tournaments may be reminiscent of larger outer-borough venues, but accents like quirky church-pew seating set a more neighborhood-appropriate oddball tone. Show up early on Thursdays and you’ll find beer at vintage prices too—one dollar and up.
Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Cocktails at the movies, a Monday-night bacchanal, and a great rookie-rap show.
