With its 13,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space and 24 cold ones on tap, this mechanic shop turned beer garden is a New York revelation: Bigger really is better. Though not as sprawling as Queens’ Bohemian Hall or Studio Square, it’s spacious by South Slope standards; you’ll rarely have a hard time finding seats by the fireplace or outdoor heat lamps. Couple that relative roominess with Brooklyn-apropos bar food (say, a grass-fed meatball panini), happy-hour specials ($3 drafts and $4 well drinks on weekdays till 7 p.m.), and the bocce courts in back, and you’ve got all the makings of a decent birthday-party or second-date diversion.
