The clubby 11,000 sq ft New York outpost of the international fancy Chinese food mini-chain offers an expansive 60-ft front bar that matches its posh dining room, with a huge countertop coated in blue frosted glass, an ode to the Miami Beach location (there are two in London, and one each in Mumbai, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai). A full bar stocked with top-shelf liquors and spirits sits against a cloudy metallic wall, and seasoned whiskey drinkers will be pleased to find a laundry list of scotch that includes a $1,000 bottle of Macallan Fine and Rare 1950. With a menu of over 40 signature cocktails, drinkers can choose from twisty takes on classics like a Shiso Gimlet (Nolet’s gin, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao, yuzu marmalade, lime and lychee juice), Absinthe Cocktail with Creole bitters, and the vodka-based Green Destiny with cucumber, kiwi, and apple juice. Martini lovers can choose from a page of options, sake is available by the carafe, and a modest list of Japanese and Chinese beers are excellent pre-meal sips. For snacks, choose from bar bites like Sesame Prawn Toast with foie gras, Salt and Pepper squid, and Crispy Duck Rolls. For a splurge, there's always Peking duck with Kaluga caviar priced in the triple-digits from the regular menus.
