At first glimpse, the interior of this tatterdemalion club resembles the gaudy set of a Telemundo soap opera, but a second look reveals divas gyrating to a warm rhythmic Latino beat. Karen Covergirl, Angel Sheridan, Sheila Noxzema and other busty drag queens and black performers make this hideaway a powerhouse of see and-be-seen docu-worthy dance moves and caliente performances sizzling with fiery garmento glitz. Nightly, a mixture of house music, salsa, merenque, hip hop, and R&B pour onto the boxy dance floor, provoking occasional bursts of break-dance among the Dieseled-out hip-hop gays, sweet cocoa go-go boys, and a handful of blanquitos, all of whom stick around for the truly fierce after-midnight drag competition. — Adam H.
