Henrietta may be the only lesbian bar in town that doesn't have cheesy red décor. It's kind of rough around the edges, a no-nonsense party bar for rocker girls and brainy dykes looking to kick back without pretense. The back room holds couches perfect for making friends and/or making out. After work, after the clubs or after the morning after, Henrietta's here for those who want to chill without posing. — Michelle Handelman

i ve been to other lesbian bars and found henriettas to be awesome and i would also like jacarias e mail adress seen her in person she s hot

A pretty crowded weekend

As gay bars go, Henrietta's is about average on the weekends in regards to the crowds. It's hard to get in the door, it's hard to get to the two bars, and it's hard to talk to anyone. But in the world of dyke bars, it's a bit above average, even for New York. The bar advertizes its young image, but there are few women who come to the bar younger than their late twenties. Since the bar's redesign, the bar has had new vitality. It's definitely worth the $10 cover on the weekends if it happens that for someone's birthday, her friends got her a lap dance, or even better, a body shot, as each is an unbelievable spectacle. Monday nights host a pool competition and the bar goes back to being low-key and it's easy to meet other women. Just be warned that going to Henrietta's on a Friday or Saturday by yourself with the intention of meeting someone is a fool's errand.
