Profile

Looking for a little Miami on the Hudson? This rooftop (third-floor) lounge comes complete with white leather couches, pink drinks, a remixed eighties soundtrack, and views of cruise ships parked in the harbor. Perched in the no man’s land between midtown and the West Side Highway, the wood-paneled space is a nice spot to watch a sunset, with floor-to-ceiling windows facing Jersey and a bird’s-eye view of the Intrepid. But once the sun goes down, be prepared for a heavy dose of South Beach—think men who leave hair-gel marks on the upholstery and women with exposed back tattoos. To complete the experience, order a “Chino-Latino” ceviche and a pitcher of mojitos and stake out a table facing the water. And if it (gasp!) happens to rain, you can head to the more demure salon area on the floor below or wait for the muscled bartenders to erect a tent and keep you dry.

Weddings

Located along the water on Manhattan’s West Side, the Hudson Terrace features incredible river views and both indoor and outdoor reception options. The bi-level 10,000-square-foot venue is divided into an enclosed salon with attached outdoor patio and a serene rooftop garden. There is also a stage for live bands and two D.J. booths. Prices upon request.

Not the winter again!

I hope this place comes up with some good stuff for the winter. It was a usual hangout this summer with the rooftop and all. The lounge is pretty cool though, so I guess they can take the party indoors. Make the trip out there, it's worth it.

Sweet deal

I'm a big fan of the 2 for 1 and it was kinda unexpected to get a deal at this swanky place. They are trying hard to get people out to 46th and 12th and I'm glad I made the trip. Definitely worth an evening out--good views, good music and out of the thick of midtown.
