Nothing can keep devoted fans of Jeremy's Ale House away from its 32-ounce Styrofoam buckets of beer, which keep the copious suds remarkably cold from start to finish. So in June 2004, when Jeremy's relocated from its old warehouse on 254 Front Street to equally spacious, if not exactly improved, digs down the block, the fishermen, finance kids, and construction workers followed. The move marks Jeremy's fifth South Street Seaport location (its fourth on Front Street) since opening in 1973. "I call it 'the oldest established permanent floating saloon in New York,'" laughs owner Jeremy Holin. Also along for the ride: Fried clams bordering on bar-food perfection, the famed "Eye Opener" special (8am–10am; $1.75 buckets of Coors), and the sign reading, "At Jeremy's Ale House, you always get a little head."
