The lowdown

At this veritable shrine to boxing, the walls are lined with fight posters, photos and other personal effects that owner and professional trainer Jimmy Glenn has pasted up over nearly 30 years (look for the shots of Jimmy with Muhammad Ali). The house drink, Jimmy’s Hurricane, is an intriguing blend of spiced rum, juices and amaretto, but it’s a good idea to stick to beverages with no more than two ingredients. The crowd is a heady mix of Times Square regulars and media slummers with an estimated tourist factor of less than 5 percent. The music’s always good (the jukebox is a mother lode of Staxx), the beer is always cold, and Jimmy himself is usually on hand keeping it real.
