Owned by the folks behind Sing Sing, this subterranean midtown spot feels more like an upscale lounge than a karaoke dive. The bar, backlit by neon-pink fluorescent lights, slings specialty cocktails and shots like the oatmeal cookie, and an abundance of flat-screens playing the current track dot every wall. For bachelorettes and birthdays, there's a private room that holds up to 20 people; also, the whole bar can be rented out for 100 people. The crowd is heavy on young professionals, both after-work revelers in for the half-priced happy hour and late-night Murray Hill overflow. The low-slung stage next to the bar has hosted the likes of Japanese “cosplay” idol Reni, but the entertainment is usually of the make-your-own variety. And like any karaoke bar worth its salt, the regulars flock for the song catalog: 90,000-plus songs in six languages that, in a stroke of genius, are searchable on the bar’s website for the planning-ahead partygoer. Don't see your own top tune? Put in a request and it will be added to the queue, updated monthly.
